GEORGE KALLAS » President and Founder
Not every person would see a future in printing stationery but Metropolitan President and Founder George Kallas has never lacked the imagination or drive to take a great idea and run with it. The company did initially specialize in stationery, however it wasn’t long before George’s unrelenting commitment to customer service, excellence and ‘dreaming big’ put Metropolitan on the international printing map. Metropolitan quickly grew to become an internationally-lauded printer and innovator in printing technology.

As much as George is recognized for Metropolitan’s printing accomplishments – he has been ranked numerous times as one of the most influential people in Canada’s printing industry -- his community contributions are also legendary. The first printer to be awarded a BC Ethics in Action award, he regularly supports a number of charitable organizations through donations and in-kind services. As a member of the Hellenic Congress of BC, he was also instrumental in raising $500,000 to establish the first North American chair for Modern Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University. More recently, he has made a difference to Vancouver’s charitable landscape as the local founder of Canstruction, an international charity event aimed at reducing hunger in communities.
